Mayors to discuss growth at forum

The mayors of Augusta, Aiken and North Augusta will talk about growth during a forum Sept. 21 at the Palmetto Terrace in North Augusta’s Municipal Center.

The free event, scheduled for 6 p.m., is being put on by the CSRA chapter of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering, International. Mayors Hardie Davis of Augusta, Bob Pettit of North Augusta and Rick Osbon of Aiken will be on hand to talk about growth opportunities for the Augusta area.

“The CSRA has some tremendous projects taking place,” said Brad Nichols, AACE-CSRA section vice president. “Aiken is redeveloping their downtown, Augusta is bringing in Cyber Command at Fort Gordon, and North Augusta is building the new hotel, restaurant, and baseball stadium complex for the GreenJackets.”

Each mayor will discuss growth projects that are planned or underway in their cities. The audience can ask questions. A mayoral meet-and-greet on the terrace will follow the forum.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call AACE-CSRA President Myron Berry at (803) 646-4992.
