TaxSlayer hires new marketing executives

Augusta-based tax-services technology company TaxSlayer has hired three senior leaders to grow its product and marketing strategy.


The new hires and their titles are Chris Panagides, head of digital marketing; Marcella Garner, director of TaxSlayer’s Project Management Office; and Josh Gaudin, head of strategic alliances and enterprise partnerships.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chris, Marcella and Josh to the TaxSlayer family,” said the company’s human resources director, Ashleigh Wilder. “TaxSlayer is already gearing up for next year’s tax season with innovative product updates and exciting marketing campaigns. Continuing to add to our award-winning team of employees is a top priority as we look to meet our growth goals.”

TaxSlayer has made several strategic senior hires in the past year to accommodate its rapid growth of its business, including hiring Chief Marketing Officer Chris Moloney in April.

The company soon will announce local job fairs and hiring initiatives for nearly 300 local positions it plans to fill during the tax season of December through April.

Also, in June, TaxSlayer bought a 94-year-old building in downtown Augusta at 945 Broad St. It housed the Downtown Family Y.

The company is renaming the building its Innovation and Technology Campus, and expects to renovate it and open it for business next spring.

TaxSlayer gained prominence and success initially with its tax-preparation software and accompanying tech support. It since has expanded into products and support for legal, bookkeeping, and human resources/payroll sectors.
