Plastics company expanding in Orangeburg County

A Canadian plastics company will expand its Orangeburg facility, generating another 26 jobs.

Quality Model, an Ontario-based plastic injection company will spend $3 million, the South Carolina Department of Commerce announced Monday.

“Since our move into South Carolina in 2005, our Orangeburg facility has become a key business unit within the Quality Models’ group,” Bill Szekesy, the president of Quality Model South Carolina, said in a statement. “The expansion of the facility is needed to support our Southeastern U.S. customer base.”

Since the Orangeburg County facility opened in 2005, Quality Model has invested more than $13 million and created 75 jobs.

The firm serves the power sports, automotive aftermarket and lawn and garden industries.
