Representatives are scheduled to give details today of the new Urban Ecology Center at the Greater Aiken Chamber of Commerce First Friday Means Business breakfast.
More than 100 Aiken-area business leaders are expected to attend to hear comments by Gene Eidson, director of Clemson University’s Institute of Computational Ecology and head of the new center.
Part of the center’s mission is the promotion of an urban “live, work and learn” lifestyle. Organizers also say they will help Aiken develop an urban technology corridor.
Aside from Clemson and the Chamber, other partners in the effort include the City of Aiken, Aiken County, the University of South Carolina-Aiken and Aiken Technical College.
