The Augusta metro area had a net gain of 300 jobs in June, according to the Georgia Department of Labor.
Job data released Thursday showed slight gains in retail, hospitality, construction, manufacturing and professional and business services. Offsetting the gains were slight losses in transportation, information and education.
In all, state data said there were 217,200 jobs in the metro area in June, up from 216,900 in May.
Comparing June to June 2012, there is an increase of 4,100 jobs – most in retail and hospitality sectors.
