Intel's chief economist will speak on Feb. 22 at Georgia Regents University

Intel Corp.’s chief economist will discuss the global economy and health care challenges in Augusta on Feb. 22.

Dr. Paul Thomas will speak at The Health of the Economy and the Economics of Health at noon at Georgia Regents University in the Natalie and Lansing B. Lee Jr. Auditorium, which is on the university’s health sciences campus.

“The impact of the economy on our health care system is such a timely issue, and we are very pleased to have Dr. Thomas share his expertise with our community,” said David Hefner, the Chief Executive Officer for Georgia Regents Medical Center and Medical Associates.

Thomas will explain how lessons from economic studies can be used to better understand today’s health care challenges.

The presentation is free and open to the public.
