The store at 227 Bobby Jones Expressway will open at 9 a.m. Jan. 31, according to a store spokesman.
The grocery offers more than 1,400 store-brand products, including produce and meats. This will be the second area Aldi store, after the 2009 opening of a store at 2510 Whiskey Road in Aiken.
Aldi differs from traditional grocery stores in that customers must deposit a quarter to use shopping carts – which is refunded when the cart is returned – and bring their own bags. The store accepts only cash and debit cards to avoid credit card processing fees.
Store hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to
7 p.m. Sundays.
Officials previously said the store would employee 10 people. It was built on the former site of a Golden Corral restaurant, which moved next door.
