Waterco, an international pool product and water-treatment company headquartered in Sydney, Australia, is expanding its product line in the U.S. to include heat pumps. The company’s Augusta facility manufactures pumps and filters for residential and commercial swimming pools.
“(The new line) will create eight to 11 jobs in the immediate future (and) will generate an additional $4.5 million to $5 million in revenue for the company,” Augusta chief executive Brad Fox said.
Heat pumps warm pool water, which could allow pool owners to swim comfortably as early as late March and as late as November, Fox said.
Fox said he needs workers with experience in brazing and who have worked with air conditioning or heat pump manufacturing. The new product line is expected to be up and running within 90 days.
Fox also said he hopes to include a second shift within 18 months and double the workforce at the Augusta facility.
“The main thing is to show that we’re bringing jobs back to the U.S., bringing jobs back to the CSRA,” he said.
