Legends Club event center opens for full-service operations

  • Follow Local Business

A corporate event and wedding venue is open in National Hills shopping center.

Legends Club, a 10,000-square-foot event center, was a corporate hospitality venue during the Masters Tournament and celebrated the grand opening of its full-service operations Thursday, according to President Steve Briggs.

The business, at 2701 Washington Road, specializes in corporate functions, weddings and trade shows. It employs eight full-time staffers and contracts with freelance bartenders and servers for events, Briggs said.

The space features a ballroom that can hold up to 500 people, a mezzanine with capacity for 150 and two patios. The ballroom can be divided into two rooms for separate events.

“We can have three functions at the same time that will go off without a hitch and not interfere with each other,” Briggs said.

Legends Club has booked weddings and corporate events for most Saturdays through June, he said.

Stake in the Heart

Well, here is reason # 4,748 why taxpayers should not finance Cal Ripken's and Deke Copenhaver's baseball park down on Reynolds St. Countyman told us that the baseball park would host weddings when no baseball games were going on. I never was sure whether the altar would be pitcher's mound or home plate, though.

I just read in the Rants &

I just read in the Rants & Raves how Richmond County didn't have any new businesses opening. The business is located right next to the new Electrolux building. It's also down the street from where Kroger is building two 4k sq. ft retail buildings/access rd, Straw Hat Pizza(Tower 27 Yogurt coming soon) in the Publix shopping center, and Roadrunner Cafe taking over the former Famous Daves restaurant.

The development is much more than your typical baseball stadium.. I'm not even including the development behind Jim Jacoby. Local high school teams can use Lake Olmstead, local tournaments can use the field, and you can hold the middle school playoff games at the stadium..
