A real estate agent at Blanchard & Calhoun Commercial said Friday he is unsure why the KFC at 4473 Washington Road in Evans closed.

The franchise, which was owned by Pry-Wing LLC, closed several months ago, said the agent, Steve Collins.

Pry-Wing LLC had purchased the property at the Columbia County site in 2008 and built a 4,000-square-foot building.

The fast-food franchise then opened in 2009, Collins said.

Alittle late to the party
Unpublished

Alittle late to the party dont you think? This store has been closed since June and you are now reporting this. It was a bad location to get in and out of as they should have built in the river wood area with a KFC Taco Bell combo store and they would have done much better.

What in the world is this about?? An article about someplace that close MONTHS ago??? And I'm pretty sure there was an article about it then. Is it THAT SLOW of a newsday that the writer has to dig into the old file cabinet and fish out some old story to put in again?
NEWSFLASH!!!!! Smartway Furniture has closed!!!
NEWSFLASH!!!!! Anderson's Pool has closed!!!
NEWSFLASH!!!!! Ed McIntyre voted in as first black Augusta mayor!!!
NEWSFLASH!!!!! Ed McIntyre dies!!!
NEWSFLASH!!!!! James Brown dies!!!
NEWSFLASH!!!!! City welcomes Dr. Azziz to Augusta!!!

It closed months ago.

Along with Bojangles on William Few. And Church's Chicken on Washington Rd. Fried chicken ain't what it used to be. Maybe it was the "all you can eat buffet" at lunch. How can any place stay in the black with all the food consumed? But the chicken is moving to Grovetown, aka, S. Belair/Dyess Pkwy. Popeye's has the best fried chicken, but the most annoying service.

Hilarious!

Just My Opinion I have not laughed that hard all day. I think it was
so funny because I thought the same thing when I read the article. Countyman it's been closed for months, not weeks. It was in the News Times and on their Twitter feed and on Facebook I think. Maryland Fried Chicken took a lot of their business when they opened a location right up the road.

Well,

you know they say we are behind the times down here in the South. :)

Maybe they just noticed it was closed, it seems that is all that is out there in CC..food establishments.

KFC is sooooo not Urban Core
Unpublished

Urban Core is Tapas and Topasless (-: Street art and eclectic people. Human manikins. New Orleans on the Savannah? Maybe? We have the river and the levee. We have the homeless and panhandlers.

CC is a franchise heaven.

That wasn't the main goal on the "Master's Plan"? None of the ARC strip mall, Washington Rd look for CC. Evans would be a "little town again". A courthouse square and shopees. What we have are strip malls perpendicular to the road instead of face on. Brilliant. At least a couple are perpendicular. Sort of how "side loaded garages" are more upscale that street facing.

A bedroom community has no need of industry

A global culture with no permanence needs only street food and a mattress. Wait until countyman learns that in New England zero tax base counties can get tax money from neighboring affluent counties that provide the labor force. You move out, we will find you. We know where you live and we have your SS number.

Must be another KFC

because the one on Washington Rd just past Wally World closed a long time ago.

Besides it has gotten to where a person can purchase 25 wings at just about any Chinese restaurant cheaper, than the cost of 4 at KFC.
