Francesca’s Collections, a Houston-based women’s apparel and accessories retailer, will open a new location in the upper level of Augusta Mall, according to regional director Jen Rowland.

The store will hire seven people from the Augusta area and will officially open July 7 after a soft opening July 6.

Francesca’s carries limited quantities of merchandise and regularly updates its inventory. Rowland said the Augusta store is part of a 75-store growth campaign for 2012.

“I’m really excited that we’re coming to the area,” she said. “It’s such a great place, and there are such nice people.”

According to company publications, Francesca’s merchandise is geared toward an 18- to 35-year-old, fashion-conscious woman. There are 13 other locations in Georgia, and the nearest store to Augusta is in Columbia.

Francesca’s officials expect to have more than 360 stores by the end of 2012 and 900 stores in the next few years.
