Career expo scheduled for June 28

The Greater Augusta Employer Committee and the Georgia Department of Labor will hold a career expo on June 28.

The event will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Christenberry Field House at Augusta State University, 3109 Wrightsboro Road.

The expo will feature about 50 employers, educational institutions and resource agencies. Employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities.

Organizations expected to participate include: Acrux Staffing, Amerigroup, Augusta Staffing, Best Trucking Job, Boys and Girls Clubs of the CSRA, Briggs and Stratton Co., Buy Buy Baby/Bed Bath and Beyond, Cintas, Comcast, Crown Lift Trucks, DeVry University, Employment Plus, Exel, FPL Foods, Goodwill Industries, Hagler Systems, Home Depot, Kamo Manufacturing Co., Kelly Services, Lowe’s, Manpower, Spherion, Thompson Industrial Services, Trinity Hospital of Augusta, Troy University, University of Phoenix, URS, Verizon Wireless and Walmart.

Applicants should bring many copies of their resume and be prepared to fill out applications and interview for available job openings. They should dress appropriately.
