MCG Hospital and Clinics names chief operating officer

Medical College of Georgia Hospital and Clinics has named a new chief operating officer.

Steven M. Scott was named this week, according to an e-mail from the health system. He had previously been the executive administrator for professional services at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland.

Before that, he was the vice president for facilities and ancillary services for the Health and Hospital Corporation of Marion County–Wishard Health Services in Indianapolis. He also served as an administrator with Georgetown University Medical Center and faculty practice director for Columbia University-Harlem Medical Center, according to the news release.

IMF boosts growth forecast for US, cites Trump impact

WASHINGTON — The International Monetary Fund on Monday raised its forecast for the U.S. economy over the next two years, saying President-elect Donald Trump’s policies should boost economic growth, particularly in 2018. But officials warned that if Trump’s protectionist trade proposals set off a trade war, that could be “quite destructive” for the global economy.
