She has held several positions, including responsibilities at University Hospital in Augusta, and was also past interim president and CEO of MCG Health Inc.
Hospital board chairman William Doupé said University will issue a news release with more details.
The board has entered into an agreement to sell the hospital to University. Doupé’s successful motion makes the appointment effective when the filing of the notice of intent to sell the hospital is filed with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office. Officials said they expect that notice to be filed this month.
The notice also calls for McVicker to retain the office until the transaction is final.
Former hospital administrator Doug Keir began his duties of director of planning with University effective Jan. 1.
