Bi-Lo will unveil two newly updated stores in Augusta on Wednesday, the latest in a series of renovations the company is making in its four-state territory, according to a release.

The stores at 2512 Tobacco Road and 3457 Peach Orchard Road have been updated with a warmer, richer color palette, upgrades in almost all departments, a free Wi-Fi cafe and a full service pharmacy at the Tobacco Road store.

In addition, the remodeled stores have also added more than 20 jobs between the two locations, according to a release.

“We have steadfastly worked over the last several months to lower thousands of prices in our Augusta stores. That, coupled with our investments in updating these stores, will provide area shoppers unprecedented value and convenience,” Bi-Lo regional vice president Rusty Streetman said in a release.

Ribbon cutting ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. at 2512 Tobacco Road and 11 a.m. at 3457 Peach Orchard Road. Corporate Bi-Lo officials will be in attendance.

During the ceremonies, Bi-Lo Charities Boosterplus Program will donate $500 each to Hephzibah Middle School and the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection.

Bi-Lo will present a Family Fun Day at both stores from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday to include amusement rides. Through next week, Bi-Lo customers can enter to win shopping sprees and gift cards or donate to the Fill the Trunk event, which is designed to benefit Golden Harvest Food Bank.

Two thumbs up for progress in

Two thumbs up for progress in South Augusta. South Augusta can use a mix-use development at the corner of Tobacco rd and Mike Padgett Hwy/56..

Then put one in the actual city limits of Hephzibah(south of Willis Foreman rd) around the intersection of Peach Orchard/Hwy 88..

At the intersection of

At the intersection of Tobacco Rd. and Hwy. 56 are three gas stations on three corners (one of which is closed and dark and across the hwy the gas station/strip mall which is functioning is struggling). The fourth corner is available for development, but not much land is there. What do you mean by "mix-use development?"

It is a relief to see that at

It is a relief to see that at least 1 company in Augusta is updating and renovationg rather than shutting down and moving to Columbia County. Now if they could just get the rest of Augusta on board. If the city would just clean itself up they would begin to see other improvements. People might actually be proud to live there.
