A medical document retrieval service is expanding its operations in Barnwell County.

The Doc Depot Inc. is moving from a 3,000-square-foot facility in the Barnwell County Airport Industrial Park to a new 6,000-square-foot facility in Williston in November.

The $250,000 investment is expected to generate 50 new jobs.

“This growth will help us meet increased customer demand. South Carolina has offered us an excellent business environment and a talented workforce that has helped us achieve success,” said John Leonard, president and CEO of The Doc Depot.

The Charlotte-based company started in 1997 and is the nation’s largest medical document retrieval service. It also has a location in Fort Mill, S.C.
