Savannah River Nuclear Solutions was honored this week by United Way of Aiken County for giving the largest donation during the organization’s 2012 campaign.

The Savannah River Site contractor and its workforce raised $1.17 million during 2012, of which $644,000 has been distributed though United Way of Aiken County to 36 local charitable organizations, including ACTS, Aiken Area Council on Aging, Children’s Place, Cumbee Center to Assist Abused Persons, Golden Harvest Food Bank, Helping Hands, Savannah River Cancer Foundation, the Tri-Development Center and many others.

The company and its workers received similar recognition in Augusta last week for making a similar-sized donation to the United Way of the CSRA.

Savannah River Nuclear Solutions is a subsidiary of Fluor, whose members are Fluor Federal Services, Newport News Nuclear and Honeywell, responsible for the management and operations of SRS, including the Savannah River National Laboratory.
