Two men shot in Aiken

  • Follow Aiken

Police are investigating a shooting Wednesday afternoon in Aiken that hospitalized two men with gunshot wounds.

The Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to a report of a shooting on the 400 block of Greenville Street Northwest around 3:10 p.m., said Sgt. Jake Mahoney. They found one person with a gunshot wound, who was later transported to Georgia Regents Medical Center.

Another man was seen running away from the scene, Mahoney said.

Fifteen minutes later, Aiken Regional Medical Centers notified police that a man admitted himself with a gunshot wound.

The department is investigating both men, and if their injuries are related, Mahoney said.

“We believe we have all parties involved,” he said. “It’s just now determining their roles.”
