Lisa Yvonne Oakman, 32, of Willis Hill Road in Aiken, was arrested Tuesday and charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent, authorities said. The money was taken from funds raised by students and faculty between November and June, the release said
Police were informed of the missing money by North Aiken Elementary Principal Rhonda D. Ray, who filed a report with the sheriff’s office on June 25. Ray told police that Oakman was entrusted with making PTO deposits to an account with Security Federal Bank.
Ray said that Oakman had failed to make full deposits and had written checks for cash totaling more than $5,300, according to a sheriff’s report. Ray said she would supply copies of ledgers and checks to investigators as evidence.
Oakman was released Tuesday on bonds totaling $9,000, according to jail records.
