A thief dressed in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles pajama pants, with Batman underwear showing, snatched $1,000 from a Girl Scout cookie booth in Aiken and got away, police said.

The man stole the money box from the table where the girls were selling cookies at 5:45 p.m. Sunday outside Walmart on Whiskey Road, according to an Aiken Public Safety incident report.

He fled through the back of the store, losing his white hat and brown jacket on the way. It was a University of Georgia hat with “Cook” embroidered on the side, an incident report says.

The man had approached as though he were going to buy cookies but instead snatched the box and ran, said Katie Miller, the troop leader and service unit cookie manager.

Adults around the table described the thief as black, 18-22 years old, 5 feet 10 inches and 165 pounds, and said his underwear was visible above his pants, she said.

Two teenage girls, working for Troops 5140 and 5225, were shaken.

Miller said the girls will not have to repay the money, but because the Girl Scouts of South Carolina-Mountains to Midlands will foot the bill, the girls will end up paying.

“They will lose out on programming,” she said.

Cookie money goes toward trips, activities to earn badges and service programs.

A similar incident occurred Saturday in Houston, according to media reports. The Girl Scouts ended up chasing the robber and latching on to his car. No one was hurt.

Anyone with information about Sunday’s theft can call Aiken Public Safety at (803) 642-7620 or Crimestoppers of the Midlands at (888) CRIME-SC.

Disgusting! Incidents like

Disgusting! Incidents like this continue to escalate. It is a miracle that anything civilized can continue.

Perhaps the GSA will offer a badge for marksmanship, if it doesn't already exist.

The Augusta area has made

The Augusta area has made front page news a number of times here recently on CNN and FoxNews... none of them have been good situations and this one just follows suit. I do not understand why people do what they do sometimes. Seems like it's getting to be commonplace around here...

Another one of our really

Another one of our really brave young thugs. Stealing from Girl Scouts. What's the matter tough guy, couldn't find any infants to steal from.

Hopefully they will find this guy, and he will resist and be killed. He should be buried in the outfit he was wearing when he committed the crime.

I'll guarantee you that there is a mugshot on file somewhere from a previous judge letting him off with probation.

It apparently has come to the

It apparently has come to the point where, whenever young people
such as girl scouts are selling cookies or other things, an adult has to be with them at all times, to hopefully make a criminal think twice before he attempts to rob from children. I hope the scumbag gets caught and the prisoners he gets to share a space with a very fond of girl scouts!

The Teenage Mutant Ninja

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have had sporadic employment and they haven’t had a solid gig since 2009; I heard they have a new gig coming up but maybe the checks aren’t flowing yet.

In either case this is a low moment for them; stealing from girl scouts, really, is that how low you have sunk?

What a lowlife. I so hope he gets what he truly deserves but I can't post it here.

And when I was a Scout our troop leader would have never allowed that much money to be just laid out like that. Arrangements were always made for every 200 to be locked up somehow out of plain view. CRAZY!!! But then again they are letting boys in the Girl Scouts now so I shouldn't be surprised. The organization has sure has changed. I don't and won't buy their cookies anymore anyway.
