Aiken City Councilman At-Large Don Wells will seek election into the South Carolina House District 81 seat currently held by Tom Young, a news release says.

Young, a Republican, announced Saturday that he will run for the Senate seat being vacated by Republican Greg Ryberg, who does not plan to seek re-election.

Wells, currently serving his second term on council, has owned and operated Park Avenue Paints in downtown Aiken since 1996, the release says.

Wells lives in Aiken with his wife, Monica, and four sons.

I am glad to see Rep Tom

I am glad to see Rep Tom Young run for Ryberg's seat in the state senate. In fact I was thinking he would be a strong conservative voice for that body when I heard Ryberg was retiring. As far as Don Wells running for Young's House seat I am not very familiar with him. As long as he stands for the same conservative vakues I believe in he will have my support.
