Two people were arrested in connection with a November shoplifting incident at Aiken Mall, Aiken Public Safety said Thursday.

Investigators acted on a number of tips from Crimestoppers of the Midlands after Aiken Public Safety released surveillance videos showing the suspects.

Khadija Devoe, 18, of Allendale, S.C., and an Aiken juvenile, whose identity was not released, were each charged with shoplifting less than $2,000.

Devoe was taken to the Aiken County Detention Center, and the youth was booked and released to a guardian.

Police responded Nov. 22 to Dillard’s in Aiken Mall after shoplifters concealed children’s clothing and left before security officers were able to find them.
