Aiken County schools panel to meet next week

The Aiken County school district’s Area 1 Advisory Council will hold a regular meeting next week.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at 105 Gator Lane, Aiken (behind Aiken Middle School), and immediately recess into executive session for appeals regarding student transfer requests. Afterward, the meeting will reconvene into public session, where those appeals will be voted on and other business will be conducted.

Area 1 schools are: Aiken, Chukker Creek, East Aiken, J.D. Lever, Millbrook, North Aiken and Oakwood Windsor elementary; Aiken, Kennedy, and Schofield middle; and Aiken and South Aiken high.
