Graniteville landfill catches fire

The Barden C&D Landfill in Graniteville caught fire around 4:20 p.m. Sunday, according to Aiken County Sheriff’s Office dispatch.

The Graniteville Fire Depart­ment, the South Carolina Forestry Commission and Aiken County deputies have responded.

Dispatch could not provide information about how large the fire was or the extent of damage.

The only news worthy aspect

The only news worthy aspect of this story is that it took place in October. That landfill catches fire several times a year, its just usually during the heat of the Summer.
