Aiken sports bar Beef O’Brady’s has closed its doors, according to corporate chief development officer James Walker.

Walker said the 216 East Gate Drive restaurant closed the weekend of Aug. 27, having been open since early 2009.

He would not comment on the reason for the closing, but said the company as a whole is doing well and is expanding nationwide. There are 220 locations in 21 states currently.

“We’re poised for growth, and we opened two new stores this month alone,” he said.

There are no immediate plans to re-open a bar in Aiken, but there are locations in Columbia, Fort Mill, Clemson and Georgetown, S.C.

“We’re working with potential franchises in the general area,” Walker said.
