Aiken Department of Public Safety won Agency of the Year for departments with 51-100 officers for the second time in three years at the SC DUI Enforcement Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday.
The award goes to the agency that has excelled in DUI arrests, DUI victim services and anti-underage drinking programs, according to a news release.
Seven Aiken Public Safety officers were awarded the DUI Enforcement Hero Award. Six were awarded the Bronze Award for more than 10 arrests and Cpl. Chris Carter was awarded the Silver Award for more than 25.
The department totaled 234 DUI arrests in 2010.
