Man wanted for robbing Augusta bank in custody

A man wanted in connection with the robbery of an Augusta bank last month has been arrested, according to authorities.

Trivar Marquette Scriven, 33, was arrested Thursday and charged with armed robbery and possession of a knife or firearm during the commission of a crime. Scriven also faces two additional felony charges for child support. He has a total bond of $38,075.27.

It is alleged that Scriven is one of two persons involved with robbing the Fifth Third Bank at 3007 Pine Needle Road on Jan. 17.

The bank was robbed at 2:55 p.m., according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office. A witness told deputies two males entered the bank, each with guns, and took an undisclosed amount of money, a police report states.

Bennelle Evans, 32, has been charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Dechante Benning, 27, has also been charged with hindering the apprehension of a fugitive in connection with the incident.
