Animal shelter reopens after repairs to floors

Augusta’s Animal Shelter at 4164 Mack Lane will resume the intake of stray and owner-surrendered dogs beginning Wednesday after completion of repairs to floors.

Normal hours are 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon-5 p.m. Saturday. The shelter is closed on Sundays.

A news release stated that “The city of Augusta expresses its gratitude to the community for its support and adoption of numerous dogs, puppies, cats and kittens during this time. Several rescue groups also responded to the call for assistance and accepted dogs and puppies into their care.”
