Richmond County Sheriff’s Office investigating possible arson at Augusta home

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a possible arson at an Augusta home Saturday.

Deputies were called to assist with traffic control at the 3317 Tanglewood Drive residence after fire crews found the vacant home to have no running water, gas or electric, a police report states.

It was determined that unknown subjects started the fire by unknown means in a bedroom close to the entrance of the home, the police report states.

Authorities were unable to identify the source of ignition, it states.

Johnathan David Sanders, 47, is listed as the last known subject to live in the residence and is believed to be in prison or a drug rehab facility since July of 2017, according to the police report.

Anyone with information can contact the office at (706) 821-1020.
