Animal adoption at the airport to be held Friday

Augusta Regional Airport and Augusta Animal Services will hold a Pet Adoption Day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the airport.

Animal Services is renovating its facility, which requires it to create available space to house emergency cases. The airportoffered to play host to an adoption day to help find homes for the dogs and cats. This event will be held outside at the south end of the airport’s main terminal building.

All dogs and cats are $25 and have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, are up to date on shots for their age, had a general deworming and are registered if the adopter lives in Richmond County. All dogs have been heartworm tested.

Airport parking is free for the first 30 minutes. Anyone who adopts an animal will receive free parking.

Call Lauren Smith at (706) 798-3236 for questions about the event or Animal Services at (706) 790-6836 for questions about the animals.
