Snow to end by afternoon

After an exciting morning of snow entering the Augusta area, snowfall should cease by mid-afternoon and no accumulation is expected according to meteorologist Rachel Cobb with the National Weather Service. However, a winter weather advisory remains in effect until 7 p.m.

“Dryer air will move in overnight, and there will be lows in the mid-20s,” she said.

At that point, Cobb said the biggest concern becomes any remaining moisture on the roads turning to ice.
