School districts in Aiken and Edgefield counties will operate on delays Thursday.
Aiken County Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delayed schedule. Wednesday’s precipitation and snowfall and below freezing temperatures anticipated overnight into early Thursday morning were cited as the reason, the school district said in a news release.
All operations are pushed back by two hours, including school bus pick up times, as well as student and employee arrivals. The bell schedule for Thursday is:
Elementary: 9:30 a.m.
Middle: 10 a.m.
High: 10:20 a.m.
Ridge Spring Monetta Elementary School and Busbee Corbett Elementary/Middle will begin at 9:45 a.m. Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle/High and Wagener Salley High School will begin at 10 a.m. Students at the Center for Innovative Learning at Pinecrest will begin their day at 10:30.
The School District of Edgefield County announced it also will operate on a two-hour delayed start for staff and students on Thursday.
The Richmond County School System will open at regularly scheduled times Thursday, according to a news release from the district.
