One injured in early morning shooting at an Augusta home

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting Friday at an Augusta residence that left one man injured.

 

The incident occurred at 1:02 a.m. at a Tallowtree Street residence, according to a sheriff’s office report.

Deputies found Daniel Brown, 21, one of four residents, in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to his right foot, the report states. Brown told deputies he heard what sounded like nine gunshots and was hit in the foot.

Three holes were found in Brown’s bedroom window and one metal projectile was removed from the bedroom wall, according to the report.

A 2002 Cadillac Escalade parked in front of the home had the rear window shot out, the report states.

Brown was taken to AU Medical Center.
