Man wanted in shooting turns self in

A man wanted in connection to a Wednesday shooting in Aiken County has surrendered to authorities.

Elijah Blackwell, 18, turned himself in to the Aiken Department of Public Safety on Thursday night, according to a news release. He was then taken to Aiken County Detention Center.

Blackwell is accused of firing several shots into a home at 176 Redds Branch Road, wounding a woman inside in her lower left leg, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office stated Thursday.

Robert Teeter, a resident, told authorities Bagwell and three black males drove up in a white pickup and an argument ensued. Teeter said he went into the house and asked his mother to call 911. As the Ford F150 single cab pickup left, several shots were fired into the house injuring Teeter’s wife and a dog, according to authorities.

Bagwell is facing an attempted murder charge.
