Armed robbery reported at bank on Peach Orchard Road

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery call at 9:20 a.m. Saturday at the Fifth Third Bank at 2756 Peach Orchard Road.

According to a news release, a black male dressed in a black coat, black mask and blue jeans entered the rear entrance with a long gun on his shoulder and demanded money.

The suspect then left through the same entrance and got in a late 2000s model dark gray Cadillac CTS or XTS, which was parked in the south parking lot. He then crossed Peach Orchard Road before turning down the 2100 block of Circular Drive.

The suspect is described as a black male, about six feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. The man may be in possession of a black AR-15 platform assault rifle used in the incident.
