A woman has been arrested after a firearm was found at a TSA checkpoint at Augusta Regional Airport.
Tammy Lynn Coker, 49, of Harlem, was charged with carrying a weapon or long gun at a commercial service airport in connection with the Thursday incident.
A Richmond County police report states the unloaded .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver was found inside Coker’s baggage as it passed through TSA screening equipment at the regional airport.
When a Richmond County Marshal asked Coker if she had a valid license for the weapon, Coker said she was unsure, according to the report.
After several attempts to verify whether she had a valid license Coker was arrested and taken to Charles B. Webster Detention Center, the police report states.
A GCIC/NCIC query of the subject and the gun produced negative results, according to the police report.
