Empty Stocking Fund raises more than $90,000

The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund raised more than $90,000 through the week, again helping to make Christmas possible for many needy area families.

The Empty Stocking Fund has assisted people across the region since 1930. The money collected this year helped thousands of individuals and families.

“We are thankful and appreciative of the generosity shown by our readers,” said Steve Wade, president of The Augusta Chronicle and Chronicle Media. “There are so many of our neighbors in need of a little assistance, and it is heartwarming to know that the Empty Stocking Fund helps to put a few smiles on some faces at Christmas.”

Tax deductible donations will be accepted through the middle of January.

Mail donations to The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund, P.O. Box 1928, Augusta, GA 30903-1928.

Drop off donations at the cashier’s office at The Chronicle News Building, 725 Broad St., weekdays between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The Empty Stocking Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization.
