A Toys R Us employee was arrested after being caught taking money from the store and depositing it on his Green Dot card.
On Thursday morning, a Richmond County deputy responded to the Toys R Us at 3424 Wrightsboro Road for a reported theft, according to an incident report.
The store manager said Green Dot notified the store of suspected fraud because an employee, Kevon Quintez Lowe, was trying to deposit more than $1,200 into his personal Green Dot account.
Lowe confessed to stealing from the store on three occasions, including using his supervisor status to approve fake in-store returns and gift card money transfers.
After finding a drivers license outside the store on November 1st, Lowe used the license to set up a fake refund of more than $250 on November 24th. Three days later, he stole $100 from a register.
On December 13, he set up another fake return for $1,209.54 and attempted to transfer the money to his Green Dot account.
Lowe was arrested on two misdemeanor warrants for theft by deception and one misdemeanor warrant for theft by taking. The total amount stolen was $1,568.72.
