Grovetown man killed in motorcycle accident

A Grovetown man was killed Thursday night when he was struck by a vehicle while driving his motorcycle.

 

According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Joshua-David Wade Ramirez, 22, of Sassafrass Lane was struck by a 2009 Ford Edge driven by Dianne Bragg Clark, 68, of Blythe.

Clark was attempting to make a left turn into Bojangles just after 8 p.m. when she failed to see the 2009Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle driven by Ramirez, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Ramirez was ejected from his motorcycle. He was taken to Doctors Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:45 p.m.

Clark was taken to Doctors Hospital after complaining of an injury. She was charged with vehicular homicide second degree and failure to yield while turning left, the sheriff’s office said.

Clark is being held on $2,700 bond.
