Augusta woman gets 20 years for assault

An Augusta woman convicted last month of aggravated assault was sentenced Wednesday to 20 years in prison.

A Richmond County Superior Court found Krystal Griffin, 34, guilty of aggravated assault in the Aug. 17, 2015, stabbing of Latashiaous Tart.

Griffin faces an unrelated charge of possession of heroin with intent to distribute. She has pleaded not guilty in that case.

Judge Michael N. Annis who presided over Griffin’s aggravated assault trial imposed her sentence.
