After being laid off, Aiken woman needs help to buy kids gifts this Christmas

A job layoff threatens to make this Christmas a difficult one for an Aiken mother of two.

Her family is unable to help financially. She says she can barely make ends meet.

“I just want them to have a decent Christmas, but I’m unable to buy gifts or anything this year due to me being laid off,” she writes. “Please help my family.”

The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund has helped make Christmas better for those who needed it for 86 years. The fund has helped people such as this since 1930.

Last year, the charity raised more than $100,000 for children and families across the region.
