Health issues prompts Augusta woman to ask for financial help this Christmas

Times are hard for this 66-year-old Augusta woman who needs financial help this Christmas.

She is preparing to start dialysis and is unable to work. She writes that this is first time since she was age 16 that she’s been unable to provide for herself.

“All my life I have always tried my best to help others and my desire is to continue to do that regardless of any of my health issues, but my current condition prevents this,” she says.

The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund has helped make Christmas better for those who needed it for 86 years. The fund has helped people such as this since 1930. Last year, the charity raised more than$100,000 for children and families across the region.
