Times tough for Augusta woman who wants to give children gifts for Christmas

From Staff Reports

Making ends meet is tough for an Augusta woman who says providing Christmas gifts for her children might not happen this year unless she gets help.

“I’m in need of some help with Christmas items this year,” she writes. “Things have been very stressful trying to keep my home going and clothes on my kids’ backs and my car in shape.”

The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund has helped make Christmas better for those who needed it for 86 years. The fund has helped people such as this since 1930. Last year, the charity raised more than $100,000 for children and families across the region.
