Police identify suspect in North Augusta bank robbery

A man has been identified as a suspect in connection to a bank robbery in North Augusta.

Frank Douglas, 58, whose last residence is listed as North Augusta, was identified as the suspect alleged to be involved in a robbery at the South State Bank in downtown North Augusta.

Douglas is said to have entered the South State Bank at Georgia and Buena Vista avenues at 12:52 p.m. Monday. He demanded money from a cash register and threatened to cause immediate harm to a teller, according to a news release from North Augusta Public Safety.

He then left the bank on foot and headed south on Georgia Avenue with the money, the release stated.
