Augusta woman asks for help in providing children Christmas presents

An Augusta woman is asking for “a little help” so her children have presents to open on Christmas.

She is a single mother who has been estranged from her husband for a couple years and provides most of the financial support for her household. Being able to give her children anything extra, particularly during the Christmas season, is always difficult.

“We don’t need much, just enough for one gift apiece would be a blessing, something for them to be excited about,” she said. “They are awesome kids despite any and all circumstances.”

The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund has helped make Christmas better for those in need for 86 years. The fund has helped people since 1930. Last year, the charity raised more than $100,000 for children and families across the region.
