Augusta woman seeks help to make a merry Christmas for children

A woman who is having trouble making ends meet is looking for some holiday cheer for her family.

The Aiken County resident writes she was in an abusive relationship and is unable to work because of a recent surgery. She also has other medical issues, including Type I diabetes.

“I just want to make sure my son has a memorable Christmas that will bring a smile to his handsome face,” she says. “Please help me provide that for him.”

The Augusta Chronicle’s Empty Stocking Fund has helped make Christmas better for those who needed it for 86 years. The fund has helped people such as this since 1930. Last year, the charity raised more than $100,000 for children and families across the region.
