Additional charges filed against 17-year-old in Mount Auburn Street homicide

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has filed additional charges against a teen arrested in a homicide Tuesday.

A felony count each of murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime added to charges for 17-year-old Eddie Lee McNair in Tuesday’s fatal shooting of Derrico Bussey, 37, in the 2400 block of Mount Auburn Street.

The investigation revealed evidence linking McNair to the crime, a sheriff’s office news release states.

McNair also faces charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery in an Nov. 19 incident on the 2800 block of Wheeler Road, not far from the scene of the homicide. In that incident, according to the warrants read to McNair in Richmond County Magistrate Court on Wednesday, McNair and a second man allegedly tried to rob a man whom McNair shot several times. Rashawd Parker, 21, was shot when he struggled against the robbery attempt.

McNair surrendered to authorities Tuesday night without incident.
