Three people were arrested on drug and weapons charges after a search warrant was executed Saturday in Burke County.
Lester Woodard, 51, Michelle Quick, 44, and Michael Oglesby, 59, were taken into custody, Burke County sheriff’s Chief Deputy Lewis C. Blanchard said. The sheriff’s office partnered with Georgia Department of Natural Resources officers in the operation in the 4000 block of Quaker Road.
Woodard faces an initial charge of possession of methamphetamine. Quick is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Oglesby has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and obstruction of a law enforcement officer.
Additional charges pending against the three arrested include possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a stolen handgun, possession of weapons with altered or removed serial numbers, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and deer poaching.
The case remains under investigation because of the firearms with altered or removed serial numbers. Trailers and a recreational vehicle found on the property also lacked identification numbers or had license information that did not match registration.
