A man accused of gunning down a stranger after an argument outside an Augusta restaurant was denied bond Friday.
Victor Adams, 38, has been held without bond since the Sept. 30 slaying of Tsean Carter, 24. Richmond County Superior Court Senior Judge J. Carlisle Overstreet denied Adams’ request for bond.
The shooting took place around 4:20 a.m. outside the Waffle House on Tobacco Road, said Assistant District Attorney MacKenzie Gray. Richmond County Sheriff’s deputies recovered nine shell casings at the scene. While Adams later told investigators he shot Carter after Carter charged at him, witnesses don’t back up his self-defense claim, Gray said.
