Richmond County Sheriff’s Office seeking to identify man in connection to an attempted armed robbery at Super 8 motel

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is seeking to identify a man in connection to an armed robbery Thursday at a Super 8 motel .

 

According to a police report, the suspect entered the motel at 2137 Gordon Highway just before 1:29 p.m. on Oct. 26, barged into a room occupied by Chaterra Hilton, 19, and demanded at gunpoint that she give him all of her money.

The suspect rummaged through drawers and took Hilton’s cell phone, a Mastercard and her South Carolina driver’s license, according to the report.

He then fled, jumping over a fence between the motel and Truflame parking lot and dropped the stolen items in the Fairfield Inn & Suites parking lot, the report states.

The suspect is described to have a short Afro with a distinct yellow or gold-colored dyed patch on the front and left side of his hair, and was wearing a red, black and white long sleeve shirt with the word “racing” written in white across the chest at the time of the incident, according to the report.
